The Committee for the Town of Hunter Joint Comprehensive Plan will be meeting in the Hunter Elementary School on August 26 to allow for community input into the Comprehensive Plans for the Town of Hunter, Village of Hunter and Village of Tannersville. This document will guide each municipality over the coming years towards the creation of projects and laws meant to improve our local communities. Please come share your VISION for our home, we want to hear your ideas.
Smart Growth Comprehensive Plan
The Town of Hunter, together with the Villages of Hunter and Tannersville, is undertaking a joint update of its Comprehensive Plan to establish a shared vision, clear goals, and actionable recommendations that will guide future land use, development, and municipal decision making across all three communities. This collaborative approach reflects best practices in planning, promotes coordination between neighboring jurisdictions, and provides a cost effective path forward. The updated plan will focus on Smart Growth principles, expanding affordable housing opportunities and supporting sustainable economic development. Committee meetings will be held monthly, with several public workshops scheduled throughout the year to ensure meaningful community input.
